Puffloon + Spinarai
Inspect a Batomon Showdown combination's common full teams, supporting units and battle results by Run Day.
Build notes
Adjacent Toxic triggers → Poison and healing
Puffloon follows adjacent Toxic allies' triggers, adding its own Poison and healing. Noxnimbus can also raise nearby Toxic allies' Poison for this battle.
How it works
- Puffloon needs an adjacent Toxic trigger source; other Puffloon do not trigger it.
- If Noxnimbus is used, its Poison buffs need adjacent Toxic recipients; Shiny also buffs itself.
Getting started
Conditions to check
- Raising an ally's Poison stat does not trigger Thorntail. Battle-only buffs reset before the next Day.
- Check the positions and triggers, then fill the remaining slots with damage, protection or support the core lacks.
- Ability reference: build 26170127. Shop locations use older records; the observed teams' game version is unknown.

Playing Puffloon + Spinarai
These suggestions use build 26170127 abilities. Adapt them to your shop and team; the BatoForge observations below do not reveal purchase order, forms, levels or game version.
Get the core units
- Older Pantra shop listings show Common Spinarai and Uncommon Puffloon. Availability may differ in your version; neither has a fixed arrival Day.
- Spinarai can apply its base Poison without a special Normal-form ability. Once Puffloon is available, its follow-trigger rule needs an adjacent Toxic ally other than another Puffloon.
Build the team in stages
Before Puffloon appears
Use Spinarai for Poison and keep the team's existing damage and defense until Puffloon appears.
When the pair is together
Put Spinarai next to Puffloon first. Upgrade Puffloon when you want more Multicast per trigger and the pair can keep triggering; upgrade Spinarai when you need more Poison per cast. Spinarai's first three levels do not increase Multicast.
When choosing the next slot
Fill the role you lack: adjacent Noxnimbus for this battle's Poison, Thorntail for permanent Damage from Poison applications, or Fumungus for Damage based on enemy stacks. Keep units whose accumulated training still helps.
What each level adds
Ability values at levels 1–4. The observed teams' levels are unknown.
| Form | L1 | L2 | L3 | L4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | 1 | 2 | 3 | 12 |
| Shiny | 1 | 2 | 3 | 12 |
Base Poison per cast stays at 1; base Heal is 10 Normal / 14 Shiny. The table shows Multicast per activation; adjacent Toxic allies can trigger additional activations.
| Form | L1 | L2 | L3 | L4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | 1 | 2 | 3 | 3 |
| Shiny | 1 | 2 | 3 | 3 |
Multicast is 1 / 1 / 1 / 2 at levels 1–4. Shiny also gains 1 / 2 / 3 / 3 Poison per cast for this battle, not permanently.
Place it for the ability
- Place Spinarai directly left, right, above or below Puffloon. A center-column Puffloon can touch three occupied slots, but only eligible Toxic allies count; diagonals and other Puffloon do not.
- If adding Normal Noxalith, put a Toxic recipient directly above it; Shiny instead trains adjacent Toxic allies. Thorntail's Poison-application growth does not require adjacency.
Other units for the same role
- Puffloon + Venopuff
Common Venopuff is another Pantra Toxic trigger source with base Poison. Shiny Venopuff grows Poison permanently at battle start, while Shiny Spinarai grows it on cast for this battle: the training routes differ.
- Puffloon + Aristobat
Rare Aristobat is another Toxic source with Multicast. Compare its purchase and upgrade cost, cast timing and current output before replacing a trained source.
When to pause or change the plan
- A diagonal source, a non-Toxic neighbor or another Puffloon does not provide the required follow-trigger link.
- If sources cannot act before the battle ends, improve their cast timing before investing in more Poison stats.
- Noxnimbus raising an ally's Poison stat is different from applying Poison to the enemy. Do not count that buff as a Thorntail growth event or carry its battle-only bonus into the next Day.
Edit and review your team
- Check cast timing.
Spinarai in the calculator → Set your form, level and Cooldown Speed. Spinarai's base cooldown stays at 2.5 seconds through levels 1–4.
Puffloon in the calculator → Puffloon has a 10-second base cooldown, with extra triggers from adjacent allies. The calculator estimates its timer, not those extra triggers, Poison ticks or total healing.
Set your form, level and Cooldown Speed in the calculator. Links start at Normal, level 1 and +0% speed; results estimate the cooldown timer.
- Edit positions, then review ability conditions.
Edit this team in Team Builder → Arrange the six slots, then check that each ability reaches the right ally and meets its type and trigger conditions.
Opens a team example from this period. Its label shows whether the positions were observed, estimated, or chosen only to display the units. Set the actual forms and levels; Team Builder starts at Normal, level 1. It shows stats and which slots an ability reaches. Check type restrictions yourself; it does not simulate battles, Trinkets or permanent growth.
- Compare with the current observations.
