Batomon Showdown guide
Plan your next Batomon team.
Choose a core, put its support in the right slots, then decide which upgrade helps next. Here is how to work through those choices.
New to Batomon Showdown?
Batomon Showdown is a creature-collecting asynchronous auto-battler by berrymint. You assemble a team of Batomon, choose a Trainer, and combine abilities, Trinkets, and Items. For the game and its available editions, use the official website and Steam store page.
For a first team plan, start with the units you can use in your region. Read their actual ability text before comparing rankings: forms, levels, positions, and the rest of the team can change how an ability works.
A worked decision: spend on the next useful event
With Puffloon and Spinarai on a Poison team, check placement before buying another unit. Spinarai needs to sit directly beside, above or below Puffloon to provide the adjacent Toxic triggers. A diagonal slot breaks that link. Moving it costs no gold.
At levels 1–3, Puffloon gains Multicast: 1, 2, then 3. Spinarai instead gains Poison per cast: 1, 2, then 3, with Multicast staying at 1. Its base cooldown stays at 2.5 seconds, so levelling it helps the Poison amount but leaves that timer unchanged. Use the cooldown calculator to see what a speed bonus would change.
Choose the upgrade that addresses the problem: a missing trigger source, too few Poison applications, or a team that dies before it can use them. The six-slot example shows the positions, and the Puffloon + Spinarai guide covers acquisition and alternatives.
1. Find your core Batomon
Search the Batomon database by name or region. Each published detail page shows available Normal and Shiny abilities, level values, and cooldowns. Follow the evolution reference to check how units connect, and read the version label beside the values.
Use the Batomon cooldown calculator when your plan depends on cast timing. It estimates cooldowns from the selected level, form, and Cooldown Speed; other battle effects can change the result.
2. Match a Trainer and gear to the plan
A Trainer passive shapes the run. Compare its exact wording with your core units, then look up Trinket effects and Items. The reference pages keep effect text and game-version context together.
For a worked example, the Scavenger build guide explains Trinket economy, merges, and candidate units. Its strategy notes are specific to that Trainer and version; they are not a universal purchase order.
Choosing a gold gift? Gold Trophy pays $8 on victory. Gold Bracelet adds +8 Sell Value to a random Batomon each day. If Bracelet lands on a core you need to keep, collecting the gold means selling that core. Trophy pays nothing after a loss. Pick the income you can actually collect.
3. Check the six-slot formation
Units occupy two rows of three. Position matters when an ability reaches only certain allies or slots. The Batomon team-building guide explains the formation, and Team Builder lets you arrange six Batomon, choose forms and levels, and check whether the allied slots described by an ability are occupied.
Team Builder shows base stats and occupied target slots. Check the ability text for type and trigger requirements; gear effects and battle simulation are outside the tool. The mechanics guide explains shared HP and battle timing.
4. Compare tier lists and builds in context
Open the Batomon tier list to compare units and combinations by observed battle results. The Batomon builds directory adds common full teams, supporting units, positions, and Trainer context. Use Team Meta for assigned team groups or Pick Rates for teams carrying each unit or combination.
Compare the same mode, region and period, and read the Run Day and sample size. Battle win rate is observed wins ÷ (wins + losses). Teammates and how long a run survives affect these BatoForge observations. See the statistics guide for the counting rules and limits.
Keep your reference current
Check patch notes for ability changes, Day Events for choices between battles, and the Endless Mode guide for longer runs. Ability pages name their game build; the version of teams in the statistics is unknown.
