BatoForge analysis // Features and balance
What this update means for your run
Demo 0.5.0 adds the battle contribution screen and changes several routes into shop ranks and Shock. Voltalith becomes Ironcore, and Black Feather is removed.
- Market License moves from Item to Trinket, with Apex Bait taking the Item role. Basic Bait and Shady Contract offer low-rank options in this version.
- Lethal-hit healing and doubled ability buffs receive fixes alongside HP, Sirenade, and Shock-unit balance changes. Older survival and reward examples can behave differently afterward.
Before using an older guide
The cooldown examples here use the old reduction system, before Cooldown Speed. Shady Contract and other acquisition tools also change later, so use current effects for a new shopping plan.

From the announcement
Some mentions are fixes or explanations rather than balance changes. Read the full announcement for context.
Cinderfly ↗
Fixed a bug where Cinderfly, Shogapede, and Guardiant's abilities were giving double the amount of buffs they were suppose to.
Clawnetic ↗
Clawnetic Damage 30 -> 60
Coalem ↗
Coalem (Shiny)
Coalem ↗
It's can feel unfair to have too much damage on something that triggers at the start of battle, so shiny Coalem is getting defensive scaling instead.
Gaiadrasil ↗
Black Feather let certain monsters like Gaiadrasil, which can be triggered by other monsters, easily get enough damage to one shot kill opponents. Giving easy access to multicast in general is hard to balance, so the item has been removed. A few new items have been added to take its place.
Galvanine ↗
Often hits the cap of 1 second cooldown easily, and does not scale any further. This made Galvanine extremely good mid game but often worse than lower rarity shock monsters late game. Giving it more in battle scaling but reduce how quick it scales.
Guardiant ↗
Fixed a bug where Cinderfly, Shogapede, and Guardiant's abilities were giving double the amount of buffs they were suppose to.
Humbolt ↗
Shock builds (especially with Humbolt) currently scales the best into late game due to the fact that cast frequency with shock scales multiplicatively with itself, since it increases the rate shock is applied and how much its triggered. Due to this, Voltalith has been replaced with a new monster to prevent easy access to permanent shock. Some shock monsters have slight buffs to compensate.
Humbolt ↗
Humbolt is affected the most by the removal of Voltalith so it's base shock value buffs to compensate
Ironcore ↗
Ironcore Rare, Steel Type On Cast: Charge adjacent electric allies by 1/2/3 second(s)
Joltail ↗
Joltail (Shiny) Shock 5 -> 5/10/15
Lignite ↗
Fixed a visual bug where leveling up Lignite would appear to disable its ability.
Shogapede ↗
Fixed a bug where Cinderfly, Shogapede, and Guardiant's abilities were giving double the amount of buffs they were suppose to.
Sirenade ↗
Sirenade Endgame water teams can feel unbeatable, so their debuff removal is taking a slight hit. This might not be enough, but I'm choosing to wait and see since there is also a bugfix that will negatively impact water teams. Debuff removed on cast 25/45/65% -> 20/35/50%
Voltalith ↗
Shock builds (especially with Humbolt) currently scales the best into late game due to the fact that cast frequency with shock scales multiplicatively with itself, since it increases the rate shock is applied and how much its triggered. Due to this, Voltalith has been replaced with a new monster to prevent easy access to permanent shock. Some shock monsters have slight buffs to compensate.
Voltalith ↗
Voltalith removed from the shop pool
Voltalith ↗
Humbolt is affected the most by the removal of Voltalith so it's base shock value buffs to compensate
Zephyrex ↗
Fixed a bug where Zephyrex could still get multicast in certain situations.
