Buying Items
Make the daily Item count.
Check the cost, recipient and timing before buying. These examples show how those conditions affect a purchase.
01 // Daily limit
Buying more than one Item
You normally get one Item purchase each day. Lucky Coin gives $3 and one more use today. Without other Item effects, buying it with one use left spends one and adds one, leaving one. Tote Bag costs $5 for two more uses today. Membership Card adds one use every day. Take extra uses when you have another worthwhile Item to buy.
02 // Zero-cost choices
Free gold can still cost a life.
Red Coin costs $0 and gives $20 at the cost of one life. Gray Chip also costs $0, but pays its $15 only if you win the next battle. When lives are scarce, weigh Red Coin against the upgrades its gold would buy. Both Items also use a daily purchase opportunity.
03 // Recipient control
Random level-ups need eligible targets.
Basic Candy picks a random level-1 Common or Uncommon. Rare Candy picks a random level-1 monster. With several eligible units, the upgrade may land away from your carry. Nana Berry and Pom Berry target the bottom-right monster instead, giving you control through placement. Check that slot before buying.
04 // Duration and trigger
Effects for the next battle
Coffee repeats your Batomon's On Battle Start abilities for the next battle, so first check that your team has useful abilities with that trigger. Gray Chip pays for a victory in that same next battle, and Magic Lasso targets its enemy top-middle unit. Plan around that one fight when valuing these Items.
05 // Repeated activation
Echo Bell repeats the drawback too.
Echo Bell activates a bought zero-cost Item again. Hot Pepper's +1 Burn becomes two applications, for +2 Burn to eligible Fire monsters. Red Coin repeats its lost-life effect too. Random-target Items can reach different recipients on each use. This extra activation repeats the Item you bought; it does not add another purchase to the day.
