Using Speed Whistle
Speed Whistle gives +12% Cooldown Speed to the next monster you buy. The purchase you make first receives it.
When it fits
A useful recruit already in view, plus the gold to buy it, makes the benefit easy to direct.
How to use it
Inspect the shop before another monster purchase. Compare the recruit's skill and cooldown with the unit it replaces; if it completes a merge, check the resulting values.
Example
With a 4-second base cooldown and no other speed effects, the recruit reaches 4 ÷ 1.12, about 3.57 seconds. Buying a filler first uses the bonus there.
What you give up
Waiting indefinitely for an ideal recipient can delay essential upgrades. A temporary purchase also takes its speed gain away when you replace it.
