Using Mysterious Gem
Mysterious Gem gives your monsters 20% more Damage. High base values receive the largest flat increase, across any mix of types.
When it fits
Several useful direct-Damage skills and enough survival to cast them make a good starting point.
How to use it
Find the units doing most of your direct damage. Compare the percentage gain with a flat-Damage gift, accounting for cooldowns and how often their skills can fire.
Example
With no other modifiers, 150 Damage gains 30, while 20 Damage gains 4. The same percentage adds more to the larger starting value.
What you give up
The gem adds no speed or Trainer HP. When attackers cannot act in time, speed or survival may solve the immediate problem.
