Using Mysterious Chest
Mysterious Chest gives a random non-unique Legendary Trinket after a lost battle. Its reward helps with the following battle.
When it fits
There is room to use it when the run can survive another loss and the next opponent looks difficult.
How to use it
Prepare the strongest team you can. If you lose, build the next shop plan around the Legendary you actually receive; its effect may favor a different role.
Example
On a run's last life, a reward after defeat cannot help you reach another battle. A gift that improves the current team has an immediate use.
What you give up
Winning leaves the chest untriggered, and the random reward may not suit your team. Keeping a winnable battle is worth more than chasing the reward.
