BatoForge strategy notes
Using Black Belt
Black Belt triggers your sole Fighting Batomon’s On Victory ability at the end of battle, including a loss. Pick a useful reward first, then build the other five slots around that unit. A Fighting attacker needs an On Victory ability to make use of this Trainer.
When it fits
A useful Fighting reward fits a team whose other units cover different types. If two Fighting units are central to your plan, keeping both costs you Black Belt’s end-of-battle trigger.
How to use it
Check the core unit’s ability at its current level. Count Fighting types again whenever you replace a teammate, change a form, or add a type. A recipient that is Silenced at battle end cannot receive the extra trigger, and the reward arrives after the battle has been decided.
Example
With one Fighting unit and five non-Fighting teammates, the type condition is met. Adding a second Fighting support changes the count to two and switches the benefit off.
What you give up
Weigh the post-battle reward against the second Fighting unit you would leave out. The extra activation cannot strengthen the battle that just ended.
